Fill Me In

Posted by Phillip on Saturday, 09-Feb-2008
Ok, so i just started making my own cigs. I got some Ramback Gold and some papers, filters, and a machine. The rolled cigs are way stronger than normal cigs (i was smoking Camel Turkish Gold and Parliament Light). They are good at first but when you get to the last 25% they are harsh as hell and don't taste good. So I was wondering if stuffing is smoother. Since the tubes are premade with the filter I thought they might be. I don't know I have never had one. I really want to get into myo but the rolled ones are too harsh. Is stuffing the way to go to get that smooth mild smoke throughout the entire cig like mass produced cigs? Everyone is saying how much better they are but I haven't seen it yet. That first cig that I can enjoy to the last puff will have me hooked!

Thanks,
Phil

Hey Phillip, btw welcome to the forum! It takes 1 Gram of tobacco to make a decent stick. I'd suggest you bum a store bought smoke off someone, then slice it down the middle and remove all the tobacco. Get the feel, and look of it, because that is how much you'll need to make a good stick! If you aren't into spending the $21 bucks for the EXP-1000, I'd suggest a good hand held like the Golden Tip Productor, or a Gizeh hand held, and a box of tubes. If you order from D&R, I'd suggest Ramback Prestige tubes. Hang in there. I know the water is a bit murky, but it will clear up before you know it if you give it a chance! Capt Mike

I think you should either get yourself a hand held, and some decent tubes, or Call D&R and ask for an EXP-1000! While your there, get some Ramback Prestige tubes, you won't be sorry! The EXP-1000 cost $21.95, and is guaranteed for two years. I have one I purchased for traveling, but have been using ever since I got it! I also think either your tobacco is too loose, or it's too dry. Dry tobacco can cause the same problems you described. But, I'd bet on the machine and tubes for the best experience! Capt Mike

Getting tubes and a machine will make everything much easier. It sounds like your rolliing them too loose and getting air/smoke between the filter and paper, creating a hot smoke. The tobacco youre using is not the culprit, as its very smooth. You can find all the info youll need on this site, if you havent already. Rolling can be very tricky, especially w/ filters, I would run to CVS and get some tubes and a little HH, you wont be sorry. If you really must roll, try using more tobacco, the tighter the smoke, the smoother itll be. :)
