Merci tobacco (Kretek International)

Has anyone tried Merci tobacco or cigarettes? They are represented as a "French style" tobacco/cigarette that might be a replacement for Gauloises. Comes in dark and blonde versions.
I haven't been able to get much info and the www.kretek.com site requires a username and password to view, but doesn't seem to show any way to get an account and the site looks to be only an accounts site for payments, etc.
In any case, I thought it might be worth looking into as a possible replacement for Gauloises.

That the blurb I read, but I forget where I read it. Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure I trust the only 2 places (you listed) that carry it so far.

It is listed in my state as available, but I really doubt I will ever be able to buy it locally. The shops around here think the RYO/SYO isn't worth getting anything more than the most mundane tobaccos. Price seems to be the only object in their minds.

This stuff is exactly the same as the old LookOut tobacco from Kretek. Not very good IMHO

I never tried LookOut. Are you referring to the "blonde" or the darker "mellow" Merci in comparison? If the darker, how does it compare to Gauloises?

Kerry, I was fortunate enough to locate some Lookout Black (fullzware) today. Should be getting it on Friday,.....since they didnt have much I cleaned em out. They were out of all the other Lookout flavors as well. I had no luck with the Gauloise either, everyone seems to be out. I wont be able to tell if theyre close though, since I never had the Gauloise, but have been looking forward to trying a fullzware for some time, and hear Lookouts a good one. Good luck! :)
